Huawei GPON/ONT Modem Configuration — Step by Step

The exact menu can vary by Huawei model and ISP firmware, but the common process is:

1. Connect to the Huawei Modem
- Connect your phone/PC to the modem using **Wi-Fi or LAN cable**.
- Keep the fiber cable connected.

 2. Open the Login Page
Open Chrome and enter the **IP address printed on the modem label**. Common Huawei ONT addresses include:

**192.168.100.1**

Press **Enter**.

3. Login
Enter the **username and password provided by your ISP**.

> The login credentials and IP can differ by model/ISP, so use the information on your modem label or supplied by your ISP.

4. Configure Internet / WAN

Go to:

**Advanced → WAN → WAN Configuration**

or, depending on firmware:

**Network → WAN**

Select the appropriate WAN connection.

For a PPPoE setup, typically configure:

- **WAN Mode:** Route
- **Connection Type:** PPPoE
- **Username:** ISP-provided PPPoE username
- **Password:** ISP-provided PPPoE password
- **VLAN ID:** Enter the VLAN ID provided by your ISP, if required
- **NAT:** Enable

Click **Apply**.

5. Configure Wi-Fi Name

Go to:

**WLAN → 2.4G Basic Network Settings**

Find **SSID Name**.

Example:

**MyFiber_2.4G**

Enter your desired Wi-Fi name and click **Apply**.

For 5 GHz, go to:

**WLAN → 5G Basic Network Settings**

and set the desired SSID.

6. Configure Wi-Fi Password

Go to:

**WLAN → 2.4G Advanced/Security Settings**

Set:

- **Security Mode:** WPA2-PSK or WPA2/WPA3, if available
- **Encryption:** AES
- **WPA PreSharedKey:** Your new Wi-Fi password

Click **Apply**.

Repeat for **5 GHz** if your modem supports it.

7. Check DHCP

Go to:

**LAN → DHCP Server Configuration**

For normal router operation:

**DHCP Server: Enable**

Leave the other settings at their default values unless your ISP requires changes.

8. Check Optical Status

Go to:

**Status → GPON Information / Optical Information**

Check that the ONT is registered and the optical connection is normal.

9. Check Internet Status

Go to:

**Status → WAN Information**

You should see the WAN connection as **Connected/Up** and an IP address assigned.

Configuration Flow

**OLT → Fiber Cable → Huawei GPON/ONT → WAN/PPPoE → Internet**

For Wi-Fi:

**WLAN → SSID Name → Security → Wi-Fi Password → Apply**

⚠️ Important

Don't change these randomly:

- **GPON Serial Number**
- **LOID**
- **PLOAM Password**
- **VLAN ID**
- **OMCI settings**

Incorrect GPON settings can disconnect the fiber service.

**If you send me a photo of the Huawei modem's label or its configuration/login page, I can give you the exact step-by-step menu settings for your model.**
